What is compliance?

Compliance issues are confusing and time consuming. When we refer to 'compliance' we are referring to the Building Act 2004.

Renovista can help you gain understanding of an issue and come up with a plan to rectify it efficiently and safely. Normally, these issues will result in a Certificate of Acceptance application or reopening an old Building Consent, depending on circumstances.

Examples of compliance issues:

• Unconsented building or plumbing work (i.e. bathroom addition or house extension with no Building Consent.)

• Historical building or plumbing work that was completed under a building consent but never obtained a Code Compliance Certificate. (Please note, this only applies to projects post 2004 under the current Building Act 2004.)
